“On January 21st, people from all over the state of Texas and beyond will converge on the Texas State Capitol for the Women’s March on Austin. This event, which is a sister march to the Women’s March on Washington and marches all over the globe, arose as a greassroots movement in the days following the presidential election.

We all share the concern that our incoming administration is a serious threat to all marginalized groups in this country, including people of color, the disabled, people of different religious beliefs, the LGBtQ community, and, of course, women. So, we will stand shoulder to shoulder to send a message, loud and clear, that women’s rights are human rights. We will not stand idly by and watch while the rights that so many have fought and died for are trampled on and the clock turned back to an intolerant time.

So, we ask you to join us in this important work, which begins when we gather on January 21st. for the March that starts at 12 noon at the Capitol followed by a rally, complete with speakers and musical entertainment. This event is for all individuals who believe in our message. For more information and details, go to www.womensmarchonaustin.com. And get your marching shoes ready!”
